Ipad
Ipad, i kommersiellt bruk skrivet iPad, är en läsplatta från det amerikanska hemelektronikföretaget Apple. Ipad presenterades första gången den 27 januari 2010 av Apples VD Steve Jobs på en presskonferens i San Francisco. Ett stort hemlighetsmakeri hade föregått presentationen, tidiga rykten benämnde produkten iSlate eller Apple Tablet. På den amerikanska marknaden kommer det initiala priset för Ipad att vara mellan 499 och 699 dollar, beroende på minnesstorlek och 3G-uppkoppling.

Ipad består av en 9,7-tums multi-touch (tryckkänslig) IPS-skärm. Den är även LED-bakgrundsbelyst. Ipad har en 1 GHz Apple A4-processor med 16, 32 eller 64 GB internt SSD flashminne. Användningsområdena uppges vara internetsurfning, e-post, bilder, filmer, musik, spel och e-böcker. Med gratisprogrammet Ibooks kan man ladda ner e-böcker i det öppna formatet EPUB och läsa dem på skärmen. Man kan också synkronisera program från sin Iphone.
